Tea Ceremony: Heart Sutra Journey (Nov.29 2025)
Tea Ceremony: Heart Sutra Journey (Nov.29 2025)
An afternoon where tea, meditation, and art come together in stillness and reflection.
This event weaves the ancient Heart Sutra into the living rhythm of a traditional tea ceremony — an experience of awareness through taste, sound, and mindful presence.
At the heart of this gathering is Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, known in Sanskrit as Avalokiteśvara.
In the Heart Sutra, Avalokiteśvara enters deep meditation and realizes the essence of the Buddha’s teaching — the relationship between emptiness and the five skandhas (form, feeling, perception, mental formation, and consciousness).
Over centuries, the Heart Sutra has held a central place in Chinese Buddhism, inspiring calligraphy, painting, music, and meditation.
By bringing it into a tea ceremony, we allow its wisdom to unfold through presence — in the aroma of tea, the pause between pours, the warmth of a shared moment.
The event features:
🪷 Heart Sutra lecture and meditation with music (guided by Massimo)
🍵 Mindful tea ceremony (hosted by Maoting)
✍️ Chinese calligraphy experience (guided by Yating)
📍 Location: Northern Light Yoga, Rosenborggata 9, Oslo
